Christmas light installation in Longwood, FL
Roof It is based in Longwood, so this is our own neighborhood. Our roofers design, hang, service and take down commercial-grade LED Christmas lights on Longwood homes, using clips made for your roof type and never a nail, staple or screw. Everything plugs into your existing outdoor outlets.
Holiday lights on Longwood homes
A lot of Longwood housing is single-family homes built from the 1970s through the 2000s: concrete block ranch homes with hip or gable shingle roofs, plus newer neighborhoods where tile is common. A hip roof gives you long, unbroken eave runs that look sharp with one clean line of C9s. A gable roof adds peaks that we outline to frame the front of the house.
Many Longwood homes also have a screened lanai, Florida room or carport tied in under a low-slope roof. Where that low-slope section meets the main roof is a spot roofers watch closely, so we run the lights along the gutter or drip edge there and keep clips and cords off the low-slope surface and out of its drainage path.
Near downtown, the Longwood Historic District (listed on the National Register in 1990) includes buildings such as the Bradlee-McIntyre House and the Longwood Hotel. On older homes with original wood trim, our approach matters even more: nothing is fastened into the wood, so the trim looks the same after takedown as it did before.
What we plan for in Longwood
- Continuous eave lines on hip-roof ranch homes
- Peak outlines on gable fronts
- Tile-edge clips in tile neighborhoods
- Lights kept off low-slope lanai and Florida room roofs
- Strands kept clear of oak limbs that touch the roof
Hung by licensed roofers
Our roofers walk tile, shingle and metal without cracking or scuffing, use the right roof-safe clip for each roof with no nails, staples, adhesive or holes, and use proper ladders and fall protection so you stay on the ground. Roof It is a Florida licensed roofing contractor CCC1337225.
Insured crews. Roof It is insured for holiday lighting installs. Whoever you hire, ask for a certificate of insurance before anyone gets on a ladder. Why installer insurance matters.

Longwood Christmas light questions
You are in Longwood. Does that help with service calls?
Yes. We are based here, so if a strand goes out during the season, we are close by. Call us and we will schedule a visit.
My Longwood address might be unincorporated Seminole County. Does that matter for holiday lights?
Not for the lights themselves. Plug-in seasonal lights on your existing outdoor outlets do not need a building permit. What matters more is your HOA, if you have one, and any rules it sets on dates or displays.
Can you hang lights on a lanai or Florida room roof?
We light the edge, not the roof surface. On low-slope sections we run lights along the gutter or drip edge and keep cords off the membrane and away from where water drains.
What if I don’t have an outdoor outlet where the lights need to go?
Our lights plug into existing outdoor outlets only, and we do not do electrical work. We design around the outlets you have, or we can refer you to a licensed electrician if you want an outlet added.
